The short version: we collect very little, we sell none of it, and we don’t track you around the internet.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we keep your email address to send you the newsletter. That’s its only job. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing works.
Reviews. When you review a business we collect your name, your town (if you share it), your email, and the review itself. Your name, town, rating, and review are published. Your email is never published — we keep it to enforce one-review-per-person and to contact you if there’s a question about your review.
Business submissions and claims. When you list or claim a business we collect the contact details you provide so a person can verify and process the request. If you work from home and tell us so, we don’t publish your home address.
Listing statistics. We count profile views and taps on Call, Directions, and Website buttons as anonymous tallies so business owners can see whether their listing is working. These are counts, not profiles: no cookies, no advertising identifiers, no browsing history, no individual tracking.
Payments. If a business buys a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal on their systems. We never see or store card numbers. The payment processors’ own privacy policies apply to the transaction.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell or rent personal information. We don’t run third-party advertising trackers. We don’t build profiles of visitors. We don’t send marketing email to review or claim addresses.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses your browser’s local storage for one feature: the businesses you save with the heart button are stored on your own device, not on our servers. Logged-in business owners get the standard WordPress login cookie so their session works.
Your choices
Want your review removed, your email out of the newsletter list, or your account deleted? Email us and a person will do it. See the Contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so plainly on this page with the date of the change.
