Native New Hampshire makes money from businesses that pay for upgraded listings. Here’s exactly what that money buys — and what it can’t.
What businesses can pay for
- Enhanced profiles. A paid plan lets a business show more on its own page: a photo gallery, detailed policies, and testimonials. Same facts, fuller page.
- Featured placement. Featured businesses appear at the top of relevant directory pages. Every featured listing is labeled — if a business paid to be where it is, the page says “Featured listing · Paid placement” right on it. No exceptions, no unlabeled boosts.
What money can’t buy — from anyone, at any price
- A better rating, or a hidden review. Ratings are computed only from reader reviews submitted here, and no plan touches them.
- Different facts. Hours, services, prices, and descriptions are held to the same accuracy standard whether a business pays us or not.
- Placement in editorial. If we write a guide that recommends a business, that’s because we think it’s worth recommending. Paid content, if we ever run it, will be clearly labeled as such.
- Removal of accurate information a business would rather you not see.
What not paying can’t cost you
A free listing is a real listing. We don’t bury, shrink, or degrade free listings to pressure businesses into paying, and canceling a paid plan returns a business to a normal free listing — it doesn’t vanish and it isn’t punished.
Why we publish this
A directory is only useful if you can trust what’s on it. Our answer to “how do we know you’re not just selling placement?” is this page: the paid stuff is labeled, the ratings are untouchable, and the facts are the facts. If you ever find a page that breaks these rules, tell us — that’s a correction we’ll make in a hurry.
