Why is every listing paid?
Because it keeps the directory real — and "real" doesn't mean "incorporated." Some of the best businesses in New Hampshire are a person with a truck, an Etsy shop with porch pickup, or a weekend side gig that does honest work. You don't need an LLC to belong here. What a membership signals is that a real person stands behind the listing and keeps it accurate — that's what filters out spam, dead listings, and lead-resellers, not the small operators who are half the point. And a real person still reviews every listing before it goes live.
What if my business is already listed?
We add some listings ourselves from public information. If yours is one of them, find it in the directory and use "Claim this listing" right on its page — a real person verifies you're connected to the business (usually a quick call to the listed number) and hands you the keys.
Why do you review listings by hand?
Because a directory is only useful if it's accurate. Hand review keeps out spam and keeps the whole site something neighbors can trust. It's slower. It's worth it.
Will you rewrite what I submit?
Lightly, sometimes — for clarity and to match the site's plain-English style. We'll never change your facts, and if a change is more than a trim, we'll check with you first.
